John Brenner is the founder of Hudson Beverage Consulting LLC, bringing nearly 40 years of experience in the wine and spirits industry to suppliers, importers, and distributors seeking sustainable growth and smarter market execution.

Throughout his career, John has worked on both the supplier and distributor sides of the business, giving him a rare, practical perspective on what it takes to succeed in today’s highly competitive beverage alcohol landscape. Most recently, he spent over 16 years as a Business Manager with Empire Merchants North, where he managed a diverse portfolio of more than 30 domestic and international producers and was responsible for over 135,000 cases and $12 million in annual revenue. His work spanned key wine regions including New York State, California, France, Italy, Spain, and Chile.

John specializes in portfolio strategy, go-to-market planning, distributor alignment, pricing and programming, and sales team execution. He is known for building strong supplier relationships, onboarding brands seamlessly, and translating supplier goals into clear, actionable objectives that drive both revenue and profitability. His hands-on approach includes developing budgets, forecasting inventory, creating incentive and display programs, and collaborating closely with sales, marketing, finance, and operations teams.

At Hudson Beverage Consulting, John partners with clients to provide strategic guidance grounded in real-world experience. His mission is simple: help beverage brands grow smarter, execute better, and build long-term value in the marketplace.
